Progress is being made to bring the MEV to life.

The new development by Schlegel Villages at Ridgeview Court is close to completion, with final permits issued in early 2026. Substantial construction was completed in 2025, and it is anticipated that up to 192 residents can be welcomed to the new long-term residence by the summer of 2026.

As the first newly constructed building in the MEV, this site is significant to the plans for the complex to support educational programming for Conestoga College. Through this ongoing partnership with Conestoga College, Schlegel Villages in Milton will be the new home of a ‘Living Lab’ classroom for healthcare, bringing an innovative model that integrates real-world, hands-on education and long-term care support. Conestoga College anticipates students beginning this work in Milton upon Schlegel Villages’ opening late 2026, supporting proactive workforce development in a key healthcare field.

Mattamy Homes, a significant land holder in the MEV, has also taken steps to bring their development to fruition. In 2025, Mattamy submitted a Plan of Subdivision application to establish a mixed-use community featuring residential blocks, mixed-use sites, parkland, and rights-of-way.

These projects advance the MEV vision to bring together healthcare, education, post-secondary campuses, an innovation district, and a complete neighbourhood. Progress in this area strengthens InvestMilton’s ability to attract collaborative, high-value businesses, fuels Milton’s talent pipeline, and supports Milton’s long-term economic growth.
