2025 InvestMilton Annual Report

Major Project Milestones

Milton Transit Service Expansion

Milton Transit’s expansion is an investment in workforce mobility and community connectivity, improving access to jobs, employment areas, and education hubs across town. In 2025, transit services expanded to seven days-a-week, with extended weekday evening hours, improving reliability for employees working non-traditional shifts and businesses operating beyond standard business hours. Enhanced services continue to strengthen connections to Milton’s major business parks and employment areas, provide reliable links to Milton GO Station, and support post-secondary access through direct service to the Conestoga College and Wilfrid Laurier campuses. The InvestMilton team will continue to advocate on behalf of the business community to ensure that key routes, including the 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, and GO Connect services, support workforce mobility, talent development, and Milton’s long-term business competitiveness.

Civic Square

The approval of Phase One of the Downtown Milton Civic Square in 2025 was a pivotal step in strengthening the Town’s economic competitiveness and downtown business landscape. The Civic Square reflects a long-term strategic land development project and vision that recognizes vibrant community places, particularly in the central business district, are a key driver of talent attraction, retention, and a resilient local economy.

By investing in placemaking through key projects like the Civic Square, Milton is deliberately creating the kind of vibrant, active downtown that attracts talent and encourages them to stay.

Phase One, kicking off in 2026, lays the foundation for a true civic heart: a welcoming, animated place that supports community life, culture, and local business. Increased foot traffic and activity strengthen downtown businesses, support entrepreneurship, and signal confidence that helps catalyze private investment. Milton’s future vision for a Civic Square will not only benefit existing residents, but also employers seeking a location that helps them to recruit and retain a skilled workforce in a lively downtown atmosphere.
