Chudleigh’s story is a reminder that Milton isn’t just a place where businesses operate — it’s a place where they scale, invest, and compete globally.
From its beginnings as a family orchard to its evolution into a global frozen dessert brand, Chudleigh’s demonstrates how innovation, talent, and a supportive business environment can translate ideas into long‑term commercial success.
Their growth reflects a defining characteristic of Milton’s business community: companies that combine strong operational execution with the ambition to expand beyond local markets.
Chudleigh’s: Farm-Driven, Factory-Powered
When Chudleigh’s expanded into frozen dessert manufacturing, co‑founders Dean and Scott Chudleigh selected Milton for their 111,000‑square‑foot production facility, located minutes from their family farm.
Innovation remains central to their operations. To preserve quality and maintain the homemade flavours their brand is known for, Chudleigh’s uses a proprietary “from‑scratch” frozen process — peeling and processing their own apples, baking in‑house, and freezing products immediately to lock in freshness.
Completing the full manufacturing cycle within 24 hours allows the company to scale production while maintaining product integrity — a key differentiator in a competitive, high‑volume food sector.
Growing Beyond Borders
Since expanding into the pre‑packaged food market, Chudleigh’s supply chain and market reach have grown significantly.
Today, the company exports more than 70 per cent of its products to the United States, Asia, Europe, and Mexico, while also supplying major Canadian retailers including Costco, Fortinos, and Metro
Why Milton?
Chudleigh’s success illustrates what’s possible when a business is rooted in a community that supports investment, talent, and continuous improvement.
